Majesty in the unexpected
2025-03-16

Anthony, Arnaud, Bruno, Dominique and Janine joined Brecht on a Plan B discovery tour around the terrain east of Kangerlussuaq, an impressive location that meets the massive Greenland Ice Cap.

It was a struggle in the beginning due to exposed stones and little snow, but they eventually reached Point 660 and the breathtaking edge of the massive ice sheet. At times they were able to detach from their sleds to move freely and unencumbered on the bare terrain.

The advantages of any Plan B often reveal themselves in a complementary tempo as to the disappearance of disappointment. Our team's resilience and adventurer's spirit fuelled their energy to trek 18 kilometres yesterday, a meandering journey through a variety of uniquely majestic terrain.

The realisation that they were now enjoying the luxury of time - and the space to explore - without the pressure of reaching a definitive destination was not lost on our team. Tired and satisfied, they eventually established a camp with stunning views of Greenland's inlets, the ice cap and wildlife including muskox.

Temperatures in the area remained on the warm side at around -8° C.

We'll continue to follow their expedition travels both here and also in French at Expeditions Unlimited with their LiveExplorer tracking feature.
