Our Polar Experience guide Olivier Bourcet has recently completed his comprehensive initial trainings to prepare several of our Arctic Circle Trail participants for their pending Greenland expedition.
The vibe was enthusiastic in the French Jura Mountains as Olivier guided these individuals toward proficiency in polar travel. Progression techniques were perfected during the day and winter camping skills were honed each night.
Our team is now finalising the myriad of details necessary to depart fully prepared for their grand adventure that will begin in less than two weeks. Olivier is handing over the team to our Arctic Circle Trail expert guide Brecht De Meulenaer, and together they are leading the participants through a variety of checklists.
The deep cold remains the most profound challenge of this (or any) polar expedition and Olivier and Brecht are providing our group with solid tips and tricks for navigating this omnipresent element. Weather conditions, especially wind, will be closely monitored to ensure safe travel throughout the expedition.
Scheduled departure for Kangerlussuaq, Greenland via Copenhagen, Denmark will begin on March 9th. If all goes as planned, we should see our team out on the ice on Tuesday, March 11th.
As always, we'll follow our team's progress here on our blog (English) and also via Expeditions Unlimited Livexplorer tracking system (French).
Welcome to our new 2025 season of adventure!
